Canadian pediatric residents' experience and level of comfort with adolescent gynecological health care.Korczak DJ, MacArthur C, Katzman DK The Division of Paediatric Medicine, Department of Paediatrics, The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada. To examine residents' comfort and confidence with adolescent gynecological skills, senior Canadian pediatric residents were surveyed. The majority of residents had not prescribed emergency contraception or provided options counseling to adolescents during their residency, and were uncomfortable with gynecological skills (68%, 75%, and 58%, respectively). Senior Canadian pediatric residents are uncomfortable and feel inadequately prepared in providing routine gynecological care to adolescents. Published 2 January 2006 in J Adolesc Health, 38(1): 57-9.
